Saturday, May 13 was a special day for tennis in Canada. Clubs, fans, and coaches across the country hit the courts to host free tennis activities to encourage Canadians to get out and play on #TennisDay in Canada. More than 150 groups across Canada, celebrating our nation’s 150th birthday, took part in the celebration and some of them were in Alberta. Below are some of the activities tennis communities hosted across Alberta.

In Calgary at the Alberta Tennis Centre kids enjoyed a sunny day at the outdoor courts…

Okotoks had kids jumping in excitement to get some smashes!

..meanwhile in Edmonton at the Saville Community Sports Centre the weather was not as nice but this didn’t stop the U9 Futures Stars event taking place as scheduled

Although the Edmonton weather put a stop to the scheduled activities at RGC it couldn’t stop some youngsters playing tennis for their first time!

Some folks like the Edmonton North Primary Care Network didn’t let the rain damp their game!

…same with the kids at Scottish United’s Symposium who tried their foot on tennis.

We look forward to next year’s Tennis Day in Canada and what activities it will bring!
