Thursday, June 8th marked the beginning of our first tennis tournament of the year, the Junior Challenger Tournament. Despite the setbacks that mother nature dealt us, the tournament went off with only minor glitches. To the juniors who competed in the cold and the rain, you are all rockstars in our books, you made it look easy! A special congratulations to Lucia Lipon (Girls U12 winner), Paige Chapman (Girls U14 winner), Kayden Dugas (Boys U12 winner) Braydon Bouliane (Boys U14 winner), and Liam Spiers (Boys U16-18 winner). We would also like to congratulate Sophie Degrand (Girls U12 runner up), Sara Kostic (Girls U14 runner up), Bennett Carlson (Boys U12 runner up), Isaac Aspinall (Boys U14 runner up), and Aeon Espino (Boys U16-18 runner up).

You can view the full event results and draws here.

We would like to thank all the volunteers who braved the nasty weather, and gave their time to help us provide the best possible experience to the next generation of tennis all-stars! Without all of your hard work this tournament would not have been possible. You are all so appreciated! We would also like to take this time to recognize the hard work and unparalleled dedication of our resident tennis pros Matt Ormandy and Tobiasz Strozyk for their tireless efforts all weekend long. They battled the intense rain and made sure our courts were well maintained.

Thanks everyone, it was a great tournament!

And that's all folks. 🎾πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ’£ #bombedit #juniorchallenger #playtheclay #garneautennisclub
